Our Process

Consultation

One of our reps will have a consultation with you and ask you detailed questions to flesh out exactly what you’re envisioning. This is the “idea” phase.

  • Video call via Zoom to anywhere in the world
  • Pre-formulated questions carefully designed to “draw out” your idea in vivid detail
  • Inclusion of ideas you want to include but don’t know how to incorporate
  • Discussion of ultimate goals in terms of form and function
  • Discussion about aesthetic aspects like color and material
  • Initial costing estimate

Prototyping

Guided by your ideas, our engineers use prototyping software to put your idea on paper and figure out the most feasible way to make it a reality. This is the “design” phase.

  • Use of software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Rhino to illustrate your idea and add technical details
  • Ensuring build integrity and functional efficiency by reviewing possible materials and design variations
  • Contacting you with the prototype to make sure you’re 100% satisfied

Testing

The engineers will actually build the prototype and make sure it works well. This is the “quality assurance” phase.

  • The prototype is built from the design created in the previous phase.
  • The prototype is subjectedto international standard test like waterproofing, drop resistance, electrical safety testing, or anything else that’s relevant to your product.
  • The product’s materials and design are adjusted according to the test results.
  • Calculating cost of materials and labor for the final prototype to generate a costing report

Production

If you only want to produce 20-100 units of your new product, we’ll do it in-house. If you want to produce more than that, we’ll do it in a factory.

  • Locating a suitable production facility for the number and type of products you want.
  • Using premium-quality industrial-grade materials to bring the prototype to life
  • Shipping the first batch of production to your door, anywhere in the world. We can also ship to 3PL or Amazon FBA.

Let’s get started. Getting a quote is easy and free, and our pricing model is transparent and honest.

What Makes Torotic Different?

At Torotic, we understand that we’re in the idea industry. Whereas most companies in the rapid prototyping biz fancy themselves industrial manufacturers for hire, we think of ourselves as consultants who will put your idea front and center. We pride ourselves on quality work and a transparent pricing model.

We provide entrepreneurs and small businesses a fast and cost effective way to validate their idea so they can get to product-market-fit, and our business plan reflects 2 major differences allowing us to do so:

We can produce small batches of 20-100 units. This sets us apart from most rapid prototyping companies, which generally only make large batches of at least 500 units. The difference is due to the fact that we are equipped to put together your product in-house, so we don’t have to worry about factory minimums.

This in-house small batch production method is 10-20% more expensive than mass production in a Chinese factory. However, quality is easier to conntrol, leading to a sturdier final product.

We’re a group of the most skilled engineering artisans in Vietnam, and we produce your product in-house. Doing everything ourselves allows us to charge a very low rate for such high-quality rapid prototyping.

Our focus is make your prototype a reality and not making a profit from producing your products. Essentially the only fees you will pay are the $25/hour fees for the engineers.

We guarantee that:

  • You won’t pay a dime unless you approve your full project’s cost estimate.
  • We will complete the work within the quoted number of hours. If we take longer, we won’t charge you for the extra time.
  • You’ll receive a product that’s tested and working. The hours spent safety-checking our engineered designs are free of charge.
  • We’ll have your prototype to you within a month and your product fully tested and delivered within 2 months.
  • We WON’T try to overcharge you for production and materials. Our entire profit margin comes from our engineers’ 25/hour rate during the prototyping phase.

FAQS

Common Questions

7 days, depending on the complexity of your product and whether we need to perform additional research or designing of the product, and the collaboration time between you and us.

Our rate is fixed at $25/hr + material costs. So the final cost depends on the type of product you’ll be making; if it’s mostly plastic, the material cost will be a lot smaller than engineering time.

50% deposit of quoted engineer time, plus 100% material cost upfront.

Yes, we will provide a 100% refund (including the deposit) if we are not able to complete the product to agreed specifications.
