Rapid Prototyping Service Quote
You know what your product should do and how it should feel. You just need someone to take it from idea to a real, physical thing you can hold, test, and sell. That is exactly what we do.

Three real products that started exactly the way yours is starting now.
Example 1 — electronics product
Architect Max Gunawan launched a 2013 Kickstarter campaign with no engineering background. A rechargeable battery, LED modules, and a precision wood enclosure — all designed as one integrated system. All five Sharks made competing offers. Robert Herjavec invested $350,000 for 10% equity. Lumio generates $5 million a year and is sold in MoMA stores worldwide.

Example 2 — metal product
Scott Fleming, a Wisconsin woodworker, built 50 powder-coated steel units to test whether people would pay. He swapped the original wood design for metal on his dad’s advice. That small batch answered every question before a dollar went into tooling. StoveShelf is now a $10M Amazon business.

Example 3 — consumer product
David Barnett, a philosophy professor, was tired of his earbuds tangling in his pocket. He glued two clothing buttons to the back of his phone as a fix. Friends joked about how ridiculous it looked, so he set out to build something that could collapse flat.
He taught himself 3D CAD software and sent his designs to a prototyper in China. It took 60 rounds of prototypes over 15 months before the accordion mechanism reliably expanded and collapsed. Once the design was locked, he moved to injection molding for the final tooling — prototyping materials couldn’t be used for production parts.
He launched on Kickstarter in 2012, then started selling from his garage in 2014. PopSockets has since sold more than 100 million units and crossed $200 million in annual revenue.

Client Reviews
★★★★★
PrototyperLab were quick and efficient — had our first prototype ready in just two weeks. The whole process was low-risk, making it easy to test new products with our existing customers. At first, I thought we’d use them for development and then move mass production to our factory in China, but their pricing was very competitive. Keeping production with PrototyperLab meant better quality control and ongoing improvements, so there was no reason to take the risk of moving it elsewhere.

★★★★★
We found PrototyperLab through a recommendation from another brand, and to be honest, we weren’t sure what to expect. We shared one of our new product ideas and its use case, and within a few days, they had a physical plastic prototype ready. I was seriously impressed. The pricing is super reasonable, which means we can test out even more product ideas, especially those with electronics or automation. It’s a huge time-saver for us, letting our team focus more on launching and marketing instead of getting stuck in long development cycles.

★★★★★
We wanted a functional, expandable robot that didn’t blow our budget. PrototyperLab helped us make it real — fast. 690 engineering hours covering hardware, firmware, and a 150-hour STEM curriculum developed alongside the product. The 20-unit production run validated demand before we committed to scaling.

Superb company and service. Tai and his team have been super helpful, responsive and hands on in assisting with prototype design and production, rapid turnaround on queries and fairly priced. I continue to use them beyond the initial services I engaged them on. Trust worthy and reliable. Highly recommend

Our Guarantee
We believe in fair, transparent, and results-driven partnerships. Here’s what you can count on.
01
Getting a quote is fast, hassle-free, and completely risk-free. You won’t pay a dime until you approve the full project estimate.
02
If we take longer than the quoted hours to complete your project, you won’t pay for the extra time. The quoted hours are the ceiling, not an estimate.
03
We don’t just build prototypes — we ensure they function as intended before delivery. You receive a working product, not a visual model.
04
Your prototype will be in your hands within the agreed timeline. If something changes on our end, we tell you immediately — not after the fact.
05
We don’t mark up material or production costs. Our entire profit margin comes only from our engineers’ $25/hr rate. Materials are passed through at cost.
06
We are a US-registered company. All contracts and payments are handled within the US, so there’s no risk of dealing with international disputes or unenforceable agreements.
07
You approve CAD designs, prototype photos, and production samples before we proceed to the next stage. No stage begins without your sign-off. No black boxes, no surprises.
08
Your project gets one or two dedicated engineers from start to finish. No sales reps, no account managers, no communication layers — just you and the people actually building your product.
No. A sketch, photo, or written description is enough to get started. We will ask the right questions to map out your product accurately. If CAD files are needed, our engineers create them as part of the prototyping process.
A 3D print is a single-method output. Our prototypes are built using whichever combination of methods your product actually requires — 3D printing, CNC machining, injection molding, silicone casting, electronics assembly, or manual fabrication. The goal is a functional, DFM-reviewed product, not just a visual model.
Yes. We handle PCB design, firmware, and enclosure as an integrated build. Electronics are not treated as a separate track — they are designed alongside the enclosure from day one.
Most prototypes are completed in 25 to 35 days from brief confirmation to physical delivery. Electronics-integrated products typically take 6 to 10 weeks. Your quote includes a specific timeline.
Yes. Once your prototype is approved, we move directly to small batch manufacturing starting at 20 units. For injection-molded products, we build aluminum molds for small batch runs or steel molds for production-scale volumes. The same team handles the full journey.
